A Day in the Life of Lis

Whenever someone asks me what I do for a living, upon hearing my reply, they always say something like “oh how fun is that! I bet you’ve such an exciting life”. I can hear all of you going “what the hell does she work as? Professional sky diver? Mafia chick? Bank employee?” For the purpose of this post, let’s just say I’m a corporate drone, cos’ as you know, if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you.

So what better way to show you how exciting my life is than in the form of stick men drawings? I present to you A Day in the Life of Lis.

A Day in the Life of Lis
It’s 9a.m. and I’m at my desk typing away excitingly. 1001 emails to reply. This will be an exciting day indeed.

A Day in the Life of Lis - 9a.m.

Now it’s 1p.m. and it’s way too exciting to leave my desk (300 emails down, 701 more to go) so I’m eating my exciting McDonalds lunch here.

A Day in the Life of Lis - 1p.m.

Fast forward to 4p.m. and it’s time for an exciting tea break at my desk. Mmm, a steaming mug of English Breakfast tea with some Tim Tams. How exciting!

A Day in the Life of Lis - 4p.m.

After 12 hours of excitement, I’m ready to call it a day at 9p.m. and head for home.

A Day in the Life of Lis - 9p.m.

Dinner and a bath later, it’s 12a.m. and I decide to have one last dose of excitement before going to bed. That’s right, I decide to catch up on all your blog posts.

A Day in the Life of Lis - Home

And thus concludes this week’s exciting episode on A Day in the Life of Lis. Have an exciting weekend!

Any similarities between what my office and my home looked like were purely coincidental.

I LOVED this!!!! Your office looks a lot like mine ;-)

Your life is GREAT! but 12 hours? I bitch about 8 hours in the office. I would DIE after 12.

(PS….What is with the tiny man and the weapon (is that a sword?) in the last picture? He scares me. I might have nightmares about a tiny stick man hiding behind my back while I am at home blogging….)

Michael, OMG maybe we work in the same office.

Nah. I don’t have any colleague with a hundred PEZ dispensers.

    Mel, I don’t think I’ve ever worked only 8 hours…

(He’s part of the imaginary stick men colony I’m trying to build.)

You may work 12 hour days but the most important thing is that you somehow manage to maintain your perfect hair and makeup! Good effort.

It’s probably due to the Tim Tams – the food of champions!

And as Mel pointed out you might want to do something about that crazy chap with the sword sneaking up behind you.

This is fantastic, Lis. My favorite post of yours so far. And is that you in your jammy jams at home? Very sexy I might add…

Lis, upon further inspection, your office looks nicer than mine. Hey, what’s wrong with a 33 year old having 100 PEZ dispensers? Yeah, you’re right, when I say it out loud, there is something wrong with it ;-)

Geedos, Tim Tams works miracles. That reminds me, time to stock up on the munchies!

Andrew, you like it? I thought the jammies showed off my sexy stick legs rather nicely. :D

Michael, what do you do with all of them anyway?

Tracy, thanks! I really should spend less time with ‘em machines. It’ll be nice to see the sun once in a while…

I must post on this blog in my sleep because…I think I’m you! :o)
    (only you’re funnier!)

Uh, they all sit in a box, just waiting for me to display them somewhere…See, you could replace that man with the dangerous sword (that’s what she said) on your desk with a PEZ dispenser. Then you get candy and don’t have to fear accidental impaling all at the same time…
    :D

Lis, I love the wonderful shade of white you chose for your office, it brings out the shine in your wall clock … LOL!

Excellent post! This is precisely one of the reason’s why I keep coming back for more.

Bee, then you must be spending too much time in front of the puters too!

Michael, that makes perfect sense. I might have to start collecting PEZ dispensers instead of attempting to build my own stick men colony.

Nick, yeah I thought they really complement each other. Heh.

This is great – it reminds me so much of my days stuck in airless office processing e-mails… so glad to have escaped.

By the way is it okay to use one of your cartoons on my site to post readers towards your blog?

    Joanna

Hey Joanna, sure no problem. Post your site so we can check it out. :)

I’m glad that I’m not the only one with signs reading “home” and “office” on the walls to keep me from getting confused.

  16. Lis on 31.08.2007 at 09:58 (Reply)

It’s easy to get confused ya know? What with the exact same desk, chair and wall decorations…
