We are Kung Fu Men!

Over the weekend, I attended Jay Chou’s concert (which was awesome x 1000000000). Since I can probably see all the ??? over your heads (all 3.14 of you) at just who the hell this Jay Chou dude is, I won’t go into details of how awesome the concert was (awesomest x 10000000000). But you know, I don’t even listen to Chinese pop (except for awesome Jay Chou) so it was quite an experience to be surrounded in a sea of excited fans jibber-jabbering away in Mandarin. Plus, the guy was crazy talented. He sang, he danced, he rapped and he played the piano, guitar, drums and guzheng (Chinese instrument).

/fangirling

At the beginning of the concert, we were shown the trailer to his new movie, Kung Fu Dunk, which looks a lot like Shaolin Soccer except with a basketball. Anyway, if you’ve read the manga or watched the anime of Slam Dunk, it’s based on the series. I think.

The point of this post is that the trailer reminded me of a silly doodle I did years ago so I dug it out. Yes, my obsession with stick men started years ago.

We are Kung Fu Men!

Of course, I also wanted to gush about the awesome awesomeness of Jay Chou and the concert.

Edit: Gaah. I hate embedding YouTube videos on Wordpress. If the trailer doesn’t work, this is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mSd7LaeAfA

yes, I got your point. Jay Chou is awesome. And his body definitely worth a scream or two from a fan. But when he was performing in Malaysia, the organizer was fined for letting him to show off his well build body. I guest my government just jealous

The best thing about that trailer was the subtitles: “We drink for our big plan to rich!” Awesome!

As are your stick figures, as always.

You should see the subtitles to some of the Hong Kong movies. Hysterical. Totally worth the ticket price.

    8. I swear it wasn’t there when I wrote that! It said it was no longer available. But it works now. Once I start watching a film, I can totally get into it. But whenever I’m watching trailers, I’m like, “Oh right! Then why didn’t he go into boxing! The matches would be over in like 3 seconds and he’d earn just as much money through pay-per-view. Fake!” lol

Thanks, though, I like some of the films that use that kind of cinematography… you see any of them? Crouching Tiger… House of Flying Daggers, etc…

You know, I can’t tell if that movie is intended to be a serious, contemporary sports drama, a comedy, or a parody. But you know what? I don’t care. I want to see it now. My year won’t be a success unless I can see that movie.

As far as I can tell, it’s definitely not a serious movie!

Hey Lis, you forgot to mention that Jay Chou is awesome x 1000000000! How could you even forget to mention something like that? LOL!

For the life of me I have no idea who Jay Chou is and I’m going to Google him right after this to see just how awesome he is. Bet he can’t be awesomer (is there even such a word?)than me … LOL!

That’s why I included the Wiki link! I figured most of you have never heard of him. Did you watch that movie with the boobies? Uhm, *googles* Curse of the Golden Flower? He was in it.

        Also, he’s awesome x 10000000000000!

To be honest, I didn’t bother watching the video. I just wanted to say I love the fighting stickmen. I think you need to up the stick quotient here and include a new stickman (or stickwoman of course) in every post. Or at least once a week.

I know the movie’s slated for a Chinese New Year release in Singapore, not sure about other countries though. You must be in Malaysia if you’re seeing him next month. I’m sure you’ll love it! He was really great here! I can’t wait for him to come back! :D
